Representatives

TAELS has representatives in various faculties and institutes of languages and humanities across the country. Representatives serve as local points of reference for membership and information about academic opportunities. TAELS welcomes proposals from potential representatives in institutions not listed below.

Aida Ben Ahmed Haddad, Higher Institute of Human Sciences of Tunis

Aida Ben Ahmed Hadded has been teaching English language and literature since 2000. She is currently an assistant professor of English Literature at the University of Al-Manar. She defended her Ph.D dissertation on eighteenth century literature in 2009 at the University of Manouba. She participated in many conferences in Tunis, Sfax, Sousse, Kairouan, Gabes, and Beja. She contributed also to the fourth volume of the academic magazine Les Modeles, published by the E.N.S with an article entitled “Coffee Houses and Literary Clubs, the Eighteenth Century Model”. Her first book entitled the Common Reader’s in Dr. Johnson’s Periodical Essays was published in 2013 by ISSHT. She is also member of the research group “Langue et Inter-culturalite” founded in 2005 at the faculty of Letters, Manouba.

Imen Mzoughi, Higher Institute of Applied Languages and Computer Sciences of Beja

Imen Mzoughi teaches language and literature at the Higher Institute of Languages and Computer Sciences of Beja, University of Jendouba. She is a Ph.D candidate at the University of Manouba. Her MA thesis focuses on the ‘becoming’ of the white creole in Jean Rhys’s Wide Sargasso Sea and her doctoral dissertation seeks the examine the cross-poetic discourses on unbound identities in the works of maryse Conde. She has participated in several international conferences covering diverse themes, such as diversity in America, black creole identity, Tunisian identity, context in literary works, standards and norms. Mrs. Mzoughi was a Fulbrighter at Mississippi Valley State University from 2008 to 2009.

Cyrine Kortas, Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Sousse

Cyrine Kortas is a teacher and Ph.D candidate at the University of Sousse. Her thesis is a comparative study between British and American literature in the early twentieth century. She is member of the “Cultural Dialogue Research Unit”. She participated in various conferences in Tunisia.

Asma Krifa, Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Sousse

Asma Krifa is a teacher and Ph.D Cadidate at the University of Sousse. She has taught English language and literature at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities since 2012. She is conducting research on the (auto)biographical construction of subjectivity in Jamaica Kincaid’s fiction. She participated in TAELS’ 2015 international conference on Emerging Genres. Her other interests include ethnic literature, genre studies, and theories of literary criticism.

Fakhreddine Brahmi, Higher Institute of Applied Humanities of Gafsa

Fakhri has MA in Didactics of English, and has been teaching at the department of English at the Higher Institute of Applied Humanities of Gafsa for 10 years. He has served as head of exam juries and supervised an active English club for 5 consecutive years. He is holder of certificates in TESOL, TKT, TOIEC, and Learning Technologies for the Classroom. He has participated in many national and international conferences and has translated and contributed reporting to The New York Times. His research interests include didactics, ICT, assessment, and CPD.

Nesrine Ghaouar, Algeria – University of Annaba

Dr. Nesrine Ghaouar si teaching at the Department of English at Badji Mokhtar University in Annaba. She is a member in LIPED (Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Pedagogie et de Didactique). Her fields of interest include learner autonomy, critical thinking, higher-order thinking skills, language learning strategies, classroom management, reflective learning, reflective teaching and formative assessment.

Wafa Chelghoum, Algeria – University of Annaba

Wafa Chelghoum is teaching at the Department of English at Badji Mokhtar University in Annaba. She taught phonetics, grammar, linguistics, methodology, ESP, and oral expression to students of different levels. Wafa also taught English (ESP) at different departments. She gave English courses to Master and Magister students at the department of Italian Language. Wafa is a Ph-D student in Applied Linguistics. She was in the organizing committee of “Colloque International et Interdisciplinaire: La Brachylogie à la Croisée des Savoirs”. She attended different international and national conferences in Algeria, Poland, Northern Ireland, and Tunisia.

Nasreddin Bushra Ahmed, KSA – Al-Jouf University

Nasreddin, A Sudanese National currently working as Assistant Professor at the English Department College of Sciences and Arts, one of the colleges affiliated to Al Jouf University (KSA). He completed his PhD at Gezira University in Sudan where he defended his thesis on The Political Vision of Nugget wa Thiongo as Presented in his Novels in 2011. He participated in many national and international conferences in Sudan, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Japan. His research interest range from postcolonial literature to stylistics. He published several papers in international journals such as The European Journal of English Language and Literature Studies and the International Journal of Research.
